Processing
Through the CPC
EVERYONE will
process through the Contingency Processing Center (CPC) at Rhein-Main Air Base,
Germany. While there, you will receive your weapon and mobility bags. You will
also undergo a medical screening, so make sure you bring all items on the USAFE
AOR checklist. Also, bring several copies of your orders. During processing,
you'll have a chance to fill out tax-exemption forms with a finance
representative, and a traffic management office specialist will coordinate your
flight downrange.
Upon arrival at
Rhein-Main, PERSCO will meet you after you pick up you baggage. Their bus will
be outside in front of the terminal. Otherwise, report to PERSCO at Building
340. Processing may take up to three days and you'll be billeted in the
Contingency Lodging Facility in Building 340 at no cost to you. Most
likely, you'll fly directly into Rhein-Main Air Base. However, if you fly into
Frankfurt International Airport or Ramstein Air Base, PERSCO will have a bus
waiting outside the terminal. Otherwise, there are shuttle buses that run to
Rhein-Main so you can process through the CPC. There will be a fee for the bus
that can be declared on your travel voucher.
STABILIZATION
FORCE TRAINING
All
travelers to Tuzla MUST process through the CPC at Rhein-Main and attend
specialized Stabilization Force (SFOR) training. The training is a one-day class
that covers topics such as the history of this area, land mines, self aid and
buddy care, etc. You will not be allowed on the plane to Bosnia without the SFOR
training stamp on your orders. Though the training class is only one day,
processing through the CPC generally takes two to three days. You will have some
time to hit the BX and even get out into town, so this would be a good time to
regroup and to check if you missed anything in your packing.
