What To Bring

MANDATORY ITEMS

These Items must be brought with you from home station, in addition to things in Reporting Instructions and Deployment Checklist.

  • Prescription medications (as applicable) -- length of deployment as a  minimum

  • AF Form 483, Competency Card (for flight line drivers only)

·   Duty uniform:  A minimum of 2 BDUs or flight suits (as appropriate) with a reversed union American flag (blue field of stars on the right side of flag) sewn ˝ inch from right shoulder seam.  (The flag patches may be purchased and sewn at Tuzla Air Base)

Off-duty clothing: PT clothes and athletic shoes will be worn when off-duty, Monday through Saturday.  The PT clothes (T-shirt, shorts, sweat shirt/pants) must have the words “Air Force”, or “USAF” on them.  A limited supply of Air Force PT clothes are available at the Tuzla AB Base Exchange.  Civilian clothes are authorized for wear only on Sundays.

Cold weather gear required at all times:  1 Gortex jacket (with grade insignia) and 1 pair of Gortex pants.  If all, or most of your deployment falls between 15 November and 15 March, a B bag (cold weather gear) is also required. B bags must be issued at your home station. The CPC will not issue B bags.

Contents of B bag must include:

A-3 Bag, 1 each
1 Gortex Jacket Liner
1 Gortex Pants liner
1 Pair of Cold/Wet Weather Boots
1 Pair of Mittens/Gloves
Cold Weather Brown Underwear, 4 sets
Cold Weather Brown Knit Sweater, 1 each
Black Watch Cap, 1 each

The following items will be issued to you during your processing at the Contingency Processing Center at Rhein Main Air Base, Germany.

  • Authorized weapon -- Not the one you want to bring, but the one that's listed on your orders.  Weapons are required and personnel must be weapons qualified for the weapon identified in the line remarks.  Ensure the CED orders reflect authorization to be issued weapons.  NATO orders must reflect authority to process and carry weapons.   (Security forces personnel must bring weapons from home station)

  • A and C mobility bags

RECOMMENDED PERSONAL ITEMS

Some of these items are available in the BX/PX, if you don't want to carry them.

  • Lock for wall locker

  • Battery or wind-up alarm clock

  • Camera with film (base exchange sells and develops film)

  • Checks:  Automated teller machines (ATM) are NOT available.  Bring an adequate supply of personal checks

  • Bookbag or knapsack for carrying items to and from work and fitness facilities

  • Small penlight flashlight or Maglite

  • Shower shoes and bathrobe

  • Bed linen for a twin size bed (you will be issued 2 flat sheets and an Army blanket)

  • Civilian clothes for your 3 day R&R period

  • Workout clothes (however, only "official" USAF PT gear can be worn on the Army side of the base)

  • Bottle opener
